Water Signs

My poetry debut, Water Signs, is now available from Unsolicited Press!

Reviewers called the book “mesmerizing,” “ingenious,” and “omnisensual.” And I thoroughly enjoyed writing it during my ferry commutes across Puget Sound.

You can also order from Powell’s City of Books in Portland, Elliott Bay Book Company, Open Books, and Third Place Books in Seattle, Eagle Harbor Books on Bainbridge Island, and more. Support your local indie bookstores and libraries!

Award News: A Music of Ribs

I’m thrilled to announce that my hybrid work, “A Music of Ribs,” has received The Miracle Monocle Award for Innovative Writing! I wrote it to honor the stories my grandfather told me about his Native American ancestors. Faculty editor Dr. Sarah Anne Strickley had this to say about it:

“We knew right away that we were dealing with a compelling and lyrical voice when ‘A Music of Ribs’ appeared in our submission queue for the award, but its scope and ambition are remarkable to behold in full. We are thrilled to bring it to our readers in this issue cycle.”

Book Announcement: Water Signs

I’m thrilled to announce that my poetry book, Water Signs, is forthcoming from Unsolicited Press in 2022.

I wrote most of the book while commuting aboard various Washington State ferries, inspired by the people, landscape, and wildlife of Puget Sound. Poems from the collection have also been selected for public art and poetry installations such as Ars Poetica and Bainbridge Island’s Poetry Corners.

Stay tuned for more details!
